Materials Coordinator Opportunity!
This is a first-class Materials Controller position; this role will be site based in Immingham! This is a combination of office-based and hands on within a manufacturing environment. This role may involve manual handling and time spent in storage areas. This is certainly a hands-on role! Candidates from a Materials, Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Production backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Business
Our client specialises within the Agricultural sector, they are a true market leader within their niche. They seek to appoint a Materials Controller on a permanent basis from day one. The Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely availability and movement of raw materials, packaging, and production consumables to support the production plan.

Working closely with the Planning Lead, Stock Controller, Production, Purchasing and Logistics teams, the role coordinates material requirements, monitors shortages, and helps maintain efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process.
The Role
- Review production schedules and identify material requirements.
- Ensure raw materials and packaging are available to support planned production.
- Highlight actual or potential shortages to the Planning Lead.
- Coordinate material availability to minimise production downtime.
- Work closely with Production Supervisors to understand changing material requirements.
- Coordinate the timely movement of materials to production areas.
- Respond to changes in production priorities.
- Assist with managing material substitutions where approved.
- Escalate supply risks affecting production.
- Support expediting of urgent materials when required.
- Use stock reports to determine material availability.
- Help resolve shortages and supply issues.
- Support investigations into stock discrepancies where they impact production.
- Assist with managing slow-moving or obsolete materials.
- Assist with updating ERP/MRP systems with material information.
- Maintain planning spreadsheets and reports.
- Produce shortage reports for daily production meetings.
- Support the Planning Lead with planning administration.
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow.
- Reduce material shortages and unnecessary stock movements.
- Support improvements to planning processes.
- Assist with developing standard operating procedures.
- Follow all site health and safety procedures.
- Promote safe material handling practices.

The Person
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in planning, purchasing, logistics or materials coordination.
- Good computer literacy.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of production planning.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
