Materials Planning Analyst

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Materials Planning Teams are responsible for:

  • Planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle
  • Determining quantity and order dates for materials to align with production or engineering schedules
  • Initiating purchase or production requisitions in line with supply agreements
  • Developing schedules for production facilities using forecasts and historical demand analysis
  • Developing specifications for new contract orders, as well as labour and material forecasts
  • Providing input on supplier performance, including potential participation in strategic sourcing reviews
  • Monitoring cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure quality and value

Your New Role

This Materials Planning – Manual (MAP) Manager role entails full accountability for materials planning across an assigned product line, including:

  • Managing all internal customer interactions, determining required actions, and communicating updates internally
  • Maintaining rolling order books for customer requirements, ensuring real-time updates and notifying customers of any changes ahead of time
  • Meeting monthly & quarterly billing and inventory targets for the assigned GPL
  • Developing material- and capacity-feasible production plans to meet customer delivery timelines
  • Reviewing and resolving mid- to long-range schedule conflicts, addressing supply constraints, and escalating to management where necessary
  • Introducing and managing drawing changes throughout the supply chain
  • Updating materials plans in preparation for weekly load meetings
  • Collaborating with Production Schedulers/Value Stream Leads on adjustments to production or materials plans
  • Reviewing minimum order quantities (MOQs), lead times, safety stocks, and adjusting them in conjunction with Procurement and Manufacturing where appropriate
  • Attending:
    • Daily Planning & Innovation (PIM) meetings
    • Weekly load meetings with the supervisor and management as required

Your Ideal Background

We seek candidates with the following experience and skills:

  • 2–3 years in materials OR production planning
  • Essential SAP experience (or similar MRP systems)
  • Degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Strong organisational abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Precision and attention to detail, with a commitment to follow-through
  • Firm numerical and IT aptitude, including intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
