Materials Science Expert (Remote)

Location: Remote (United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, or Argentina)

About the Role

One of our clients is hiring Materials Science Experts to teach AI how to interpret and solve complex technical problems. As a domain expert, you will create rigorous technical prompts, evaluate AI model responses for engineering accuracy, and ensure frontier AI adheres to the highest standards of technical reasoning—all on a fully remote and flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the factuality and relevance of domain-specific text generated by AI models
  • Craft challenging technical prompts and provide expert-level answers in Materials Science
  • Evaluate and rank AI-generated responses for accuracy within the field
  • Review and refine AI-generated reasoning chains for technical correctness
  • Deliver clear, precise written feedback on engineering reasoning and methodologies
  • Collaborate with the expert community to uphold quality standards

Required Skills

  • Ability to clearly and precisely articulate Materials Science concepts in fluent English
  • Strong analytical reasoning and meticulous attention to technical details
  • Adaptability to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Materials Science or related fields (such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences)
  • Proven experience as a practicing engineer, researcher, or equivalent demanding technical/analytical position

Compensation
