Materials Systems Analyst

Location: Crawley (Hybrid)
Salary: £30,000–£35,000
Duration: 6 Months

The Opportunity

We're looking for a proactive and analytical Materials Systems Analyst to join a busy operations team supporting the efficient movement of spare parts across a European network.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data and improving business processes. You'll play a key role in maintaining ERP system integrity, analysing operational data, supporting users and identifying opportunities to automate manual processes using digital tools.

Working closely with colleagues across operations, logistics and planning, you'll help improve data quality, streamline workflows and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain ERP system accuracy through effective data governance and validation.
  • Monitor ERP transactions and EDI activity, investigating and resolving data and processing issues.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual administration.
  • Develop automated reports, controls and alerts to improve data quality and transactional accuracy.
  • Produce regular reports and dashboards, presenting insights that support business decision-making.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to simplify and digitise existing business processes.
  • Support operational teams with reporting, system expertise and data analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and digital transformation projects.
  • Promote the use of automation and best practice across the wider team.

  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, BaaN or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse data.
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience using reporting tools such as Power BI or similar.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate, VBA, Python or RPA would be advantageous (or a willingness to learn).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different teams.
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics or distribution operations would be beneficial.
