About the Role
The post holder will be a valued member of the team working in partnership with and assisting midwives and the wider multi-agency teams in the care of pregnant people and their families in the community setting.
You will work with diverse groups of pregnant people to assess, deliver, evaluate and implement agreed programs of care with supervisory guidance from a registered midwife within agreed policies and protocols.
The post holder will have been assessed as competent to complete the duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- To provide care that respects people's privacy, dignity, culture and ethnicity, maintaining appropriate confidentiality in a variety of settings.
- Participate in health promotion activities.
- Support the Midwife in providing a wide range of parent education appropriate to the needs of birthing people and their partners to actively engage and be responsible for their own health and well-being and that of their baby.
- Perform relevant observations.
- Obtain, collect and deliver a range of samples ensuring full and accurate labelling.
- Assist in the implementation of packages of care with families.
- Maintain clear, accurate, legible and timely written documentation in birthing person's maternity electronic patient records, observing and reporting any changes in a birthing person's condition to the Midwife.
- Be able to respond calmly in an emergency situation assisting the midwife with obstetric and neonatal emergencies. Have an understanding of the procedures to summon clinical and emergency support.
- In partnership with the admin support, undertake general clerical work to include booking appointments, entering data on to the computer, maintaining notice boards.
