Maternity Support Worker

Maternity Support Worker (All 3 Manchester Sites)

About the Role

We’re seeking compassionate and caring Maternity Support Workers to join the midwifery team at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Our role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care as part of the patient care journey, going the extra mile every day.

Work across all 3 main maternity sites:

  • North Manchester (St Mary’s)
  • Oxford Road Campus
  • Wythenshawe

Key Responsibilities

You will: ✔ Work flexibly across day and night shifts, 7 days a week, supporting the midwifery team under Registered Midwives and Trust guidelines. ✔ Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients, relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team, building strong interpersonal relationships. ✔ Perform blood tests on mothers and babies. ✔ Assist with administrative tasks, including:

  • Ordering blood tests
  • Preparing booking and homebirth packs ✔ Maintain environmental cleanliness, restock equipment, and order supplies as needed. ✔ Use IT systems, including HIVE, efficiently.
