Game Mathematician – Light & Wonder (Gaming Team)

This role delivers an exciting opportunity to join a team of developers, artists, designers, and creative thinkers who build visually stunning and globally successful gaming experiences. Your work will shape engaging experiences for players across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Shape player experience by designing mathematical models underpinning our games
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and artists to refine mechanics
- Transform complex theory into captivating gameplay
- Ensure regulatory compliance (EMEA markets)
- Optimise game metrics (e.g., RTP, volatility, payout structures) for performance
- Continually improve game balances and player engagement
Day-to-Day Work
- Contribute to game concepts from initial design to final implementation
- Develop and simulate mathematical models using programming, spreadsheets, and analytics tools
- Analyse and refine game mechanics with a player-centric approach
- Work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality products

What You’ll Bring
Essential Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in slot mathematics or a related gaming discipline
- Technical expertise in developing mathematical models
- Programming proficiency (preference for C++; alternatives include C#)
- Strong spreadsheet/data analysis skills with a focus on quantitative logic
- Deep passion for gaming design and understanding player behaviour
- Industry experience (preferably in casinos, gambling, or iGaming)
- Track record of innovation in game mechanics
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
