Our tutors act as coaches and mentors, not just instructors, supporting each learner’s progress with care and purpose.
As a tutor, you’ll play a key role in every child’s learning journey by
Delivering lessons that last Using our smart learning tool, Compass, you’ll deliver tailored sessions where you facilitate learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.
Building meaningful relationships With a 16 ratio, you’ll get to know each child and create a safe, inspiring environment where they can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Driving academic progress Support members as they work through the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones and successes along the way.
You'll thrive as an Explore Learning tutor if you
Are confident leading sessions with small groups (16), inspiring children to engage in their learning, using positive behaviour management strategies, and consistently prioritising their safety and wellbeing. Feel comfortable supporting children aged 4-16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content. Are committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships, providing the consistency and stability that helps children thrive.

Location This is an on-site role and you will be based at our Merton centre.
Contract This is a permanent, part time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Our available shift start times are
330-4pm Tuesday
330-4pm Wednesday
330-4pm Thursday
330-4pm Friday
Morning/afternoon Saturday
Please note This is not a summer-only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.
Pay Rates & Progression
Earn more as you progress! You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.
Base Hourly Rate
Under 18 £8 40
18-20 £10.90
21+ £12.75
an additional 50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.
Requirements You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
