Full Job Description

Position: Maths Lead Teacher
Location: Miller House School, Stoneygate, Leicester LE2 2NB
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

Working alongside an ambitious leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to influence whole-school practice, inspire colleagues and help establish a learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and champion Maths across the school, developing an ambitious and engaging curriculum.
- Deliver high-quality, inspiring Maths lessons that enable every pupil to achieve their potential.
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment across the subject.
- Monitor pupil progress, analyse data and use insights to raise attainment and achievement.
- Support and coach colleagues, sharing best practice and promoting high-quality teaching.
- Adapt learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism and ADHD.
- Create stimulating, inclusive learning environments that develop confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team, therapists, families and external professionals to provide the very best outcomes for pupils.
- Play an active role in shaping the school's culture, curriculum and continuous improvement as we grow.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE).
- An outstanding classroom practitioner with a genuine passion for Maths.
- An aspiring or experienced subject leader who can inspire colleagues and drive improvement.
- Creative, adaptable and skilled at delivering personalised learning for pupils with additional needs.
- Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and helping every child achieve their full potential.
- A confident communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Organised, reflective and motivated to continually develop professionally.
Experience working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism or ADHD is highly desirable, although we also welcome applications from exceptional teachers looking to develop their specialist expertise.
About Us
Miller House School is a brand-new school located in Stoneygate, Leicester. The school opened in September 2025, has a capacity of 80 pupils, and offers a co-educational provision for students with complex needs, including SEMH.
Miller House School is a specialist SEMH setting for young people aged 11–16. We are committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and ADHD. Our safe and nurturing environment ensures every child is heard, seen, and supported to thrive.
