Maths Teacher – Basingstoke, Hampshire

Full-Time | Permanent | September 2026 Start

Quantum Scholars are working alongside a well-regarded secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire, who are seeking a qualified Maths Teacher to join their successful Mathematics department on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be passionate about Mathematics, committed to delivering engaging lessons, and eager to contribute to a thriving and supportive department.

The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with Outstanding judgements in three of the four inspection categories. Staff benefit from an exceptionally supportive Senior Leadership Team and a collaborative Mathematics faculty that is committed to professional development and high-quality teaching. Conveniently located in Basingstoke, the school is easily accessible via public transport.

The Role

  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Assess, monitor and support student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their potential.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the Mathematics department.
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Mathematics education.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to raising student achievement and delivering outstanding teaching.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student attainment and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents and school leaders to support student success.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and school improvement initiatives.
