About the role: Maths Vocational Trainer

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Vocational Trainer to join our Maths team and play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences across the college.

In this role, you will support the effective delivery of maths programmes by ensuring learning resources, teaching materials, and classroom environments are fully prepared for lessons. You will work closely with teachers to provide in-class support, helping learners develop their mathematical knowledge, skills, and confidence. You will be present during lessons to offer additional guidance and encouragement to individuals and groups of learners, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their teaching skills and progress within education, with support available to complete a Level 3 Teacher Training qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate pre-planned maths sessions across a range of learner groups.
  • Monitor attendance across all maths groups and curriculum areas.
  • Upload assessment point data and Working At Grades (WAGs) to the markbook system.
  • Take responsibility for attending weekly train-the-trainer sessions and completing preparatory learning activities.
  • Lead weekly KPI meetings to support learner achievement and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Maths Teacher to ensure high standards of delivery and learner support.
  • Undertake and complete a Level 3 Teacher Training qualification.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week, based at our Banbury campus.

What do you need to be a successful Maths Vocational Trainer at Activate Learning?

  • A passion for mathematics and supporting learner achievement.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confidence using digital systems to record attendance and learner progress.
  • A commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Experience in education, training, tutoring, or learner support would be advantageous, but not essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
