Job Opportunity: Lead Clinical Research Nurse
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic nurse with a passion for cancer research and exceptional patient care and experience to join and lead a dedicated and motivated team on the Manchester Clinical Research Facility at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, delivering tomorrow's treatments, today.
About the Role
This pivotal post will be a key player in the CRF leadership team, acting as a key leader and role model for a dedicated and skilled team, delivering complex and experimental cancer clinical trials. The CRF is a highly specialist department consisting of research clinics, outpatients, day case and inpatient areas supporting world-leading experimental medicine and later phase complex oncology trials.
Central to this role is responsibility for ensuring a quality, safe, patient-focused service to all clinical trial participants across the Christie MCRF. They will provide visible clinical leadership across the Christie MCRF and wider Division ensuring there are clear processes in place to provide assurance that research and clinical governance standards are met and that patients are safe and have an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Clinical team and work collaboratively with other key members of the division to deliver the strategic objectives and vision for the MCRF at The Christie.
- Provide visible clinical leadership across the Christie MCRF and wider Division ensuring there are clear processes for shared learning through regular review and reporting of risks, incidents and complaints.
- Work closely with the Associate Chief Nurse for the division, the Lead Research Nurse, the CRF Operational Lead and Medical Director, to drive forward the ambitious plans for developing the CRF to deliver a comprehensive 24-hour and 7-day service enabling a growing portfolio of research including complex cell and gene therapies and other novel Cancer treatments.

Requirements
- Senior Oncology nurse with experience in Clinical Research, Management, and Clinical Governance.
- Innovative and forward-thinking with a strong understanding of safety and governance.
- Passionate about providing outstanding patient care and have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team through change.

About the Christie NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF)
The Christie NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is one of six CRFs that make up the Manchester NIHR CRF. The Christie CRF was established in 2010, refurbished in 2016, and provides the specialist infrastructure needed to support researchers in the delivery of world-class oncology research. A variety of clinical research is supported by the CRF, from Phase 1 first in human trials to innovative advanced therapy studies as well as complex later phase research.
