MBBS Secondary Care Clinical Teaching Fellow Lead – Role Description
Core Purpose
City St George’s seeks a medical graduate, clinician-educator, or clinical academic to establish and nurture a network of MBBS Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTFs), enhancing the clinical placement experience for medicine undergraduates.
The Fellow Lead will:
- Collaborate with the MBBS Quality Team, Practice Education Lead, Academic Year Leads, and broader programme team.
- Coordinate CTF implementation across rotations to optimise student learning.
- Assume a designated teaching role aligned with programme priorities.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and manage the following activities:

Team Establishment & Leadership
- Implement a structured governance framework for City St George’s CTF network
- Manage induction processes and support Fellows in meeting expectations

Support & Governance
- Act as a liaison between CTFs, supervisors, and wider medical education team
- Co-design curriculum enhancements for placement learning, integrating CTFs with secondary care education
- Ensure compliance with MBBS programme quality and governance processes

Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in annual Clinical Placements Meeting
- Work alongside Year Leads, Core Specialty Leads, and executive leadership to advance clinical teaching

Resource & Feedback Loop Management
- Develop and maintain a dynamic Canvas webpage curating CTF-specific content
- Review student feedback and implement improvements to placement quality

- Deliver substantive direct instructional engagement related to ABI-6184850

Person Specification
Essentials
- Clinician (doctor, consultant, or paramedic) with undergraduate teaching experience or active involvement in MBBS clinical education.
- Proven capacity to generate and utilise student feedback for formative improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to design, align, and implement educational interventions—especially in a clinical setting.
- Capacity to adapt excelled problem-solving and supervisory skills to a placement-based curriculum environment.

Desirable Experience
- Prior knowledge of Canvas/LMS or digital learning platforms.
- Familiarity with D xxxxxxxx and quality control processes in MBBS teaching.
