The Company:
Our family office client is an entrepreneurial property investment and development company. With a value add strategy they acquire distressed or underperforming assets which they will then transform through initiatives such as redevelopment, refurbishment and reconfiguration.
They focus on actively trading assets through lettings and disposals and they deliver high-quality commercial space and residential developments.
Following a few years of sales and with two large residential development sites shortly to exit our client is at a pivotal stage in the business as they seek to recycle capital into new trading investments grow their income producing portfolio of industrial assets.
Purpose of the Role:
This role presents a dynamic opportunity for an experienced and strategic leader to join the team as the MD/Head of Real Estate. This role is pivotal in shaping their presence across the UK and ensuring their real estate strategy aligns seamlessly with their business objectives, with a strong emphasis on capital deployment, asset optimisation and performance.

As the MD/Head of Real Estate, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive real estate strategy that supports the company's growth and operational needs. Leading a small team of real estate professionals, you will work collaboratively with the Chairman and the team to acquire, develop, and maximise the performance of the company's real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Oversight and leadership of a Development Director, Analyst and Graduate Surveyor. Development of business strategy, operations, HR, and compliance.
- Acquisitions & Disposals: Source, assess and acquire off market investments across industrial, office, and land sectors. Lead role on strategy, modelling, IC presentations, and transaction oversight.
- Asset Management & Development: Review portfolio performance and business plans. Take the lead on lettings, developments, cap-ex delivery, and planning across all sites.
- Finance: Oversight on group cashflow, stress testing, banking relations, refinances, and hedging (including interest rate caps).
- Corporate: Liaise with advisors to optimise structures and tax efficiency.

Qualifications:
- MRICS, preferred but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Experienced in team leadership or with the ability to step up into a leadership role
- 8-12 years of experience in real estate investment with a proven track record of success in asset optimization and performance management.
- A hands on individual, an ability to communicate at all levels, personable, adaptable and a good negotiator.
- Strong understanding of real estate market dynamics, financial analysis, and portfolio optimization.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
