Who are Prescient?

Prescient is a specialist global consultancy focused exclusively on the biopharmaceutical industry. Following the recent acquisitions of Uptake and Dolon, Prescient now operates across four core practices: Commercial, Medical, Competitive Strategy and Value, Pricing & Access. Together, we deliver best-in-class intelligence, evidence and strategic consulting to leading biopharma organisations worldwide.

Our work supports clients across the full product lifecycle, from early pipeline through post-launch, delivering timely insights and strategic recommendations that enable informed decision-making across commercial, medical, competitive intelligence, evidence generation and market access functions.

Our Medical practice is the scientific engine of the Prescient platform. We are insight-led and evidence-driven, working alongside clients to navigate complex medical affairs challenges across three core pillars: Medical Strategy & Planning, Integrated Evidence Strategy & Generation and Organisational Excellence. We partner with many of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies across oncology, rare disease, immunology, neuroscience and beyond.

About the role

We are hiring an MD Senior Principal as a senior clinical leader within the Medical practice. This is a physician leadership role focused on bringing scientific authority, deepening our subject matter credibility and elevating how we partner with the most senior medical affairs leaders in the industry.

Our clients want a genuine thought partner: a firm that challenges their thinking, brings independent clinical perspective and guides high-uncertainty decisions with conviction. Based in our London office, you will be an expert clients seek out, shaping engagements, building relationships at the executive level and helping define what physician-led medical affairs consulting looks like at Prescient.

What role will I play on projects?

  • Operate as a recognised scientific authority across the practice, trusted by senior clients on their most complex medical strategy, evidence and organisational challenges.
  • Shape how Prescient thinks about physician-led consulting: contributing to thought leadership, building the external profile of the practice and helping develop the next generation of consultants.
  • Serve as a recognised subject matter expert in one or more therapeutic areas, trusted by senior clients on complex medical strategy, evidence and organisational challenges.
  • Provide scientific and clinical leadership across the practice's three core offerings, bringing depth, independence and executive-level credibility.
  • Develop innovative approaches to complex medical affairs challenges, proactively bringing perspectives on what clients should do differently rather than synthesising their existing thinking.
  • Own the "now what": guide clients from data and evidence through to implications and recommended action in high-stakes settings.
  • Produce thought leadership including white papers, case studies and conference contributions that build the practice's external scientific profile.
  • Lead and contribute to business development with priority accounts; develop proposals, scope and cost engagements accurately and position the practice competitively at the executive level.
  • Cultivate an external network of key opinion leaders and medical affairs leaders that strengthens our market credibility.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues on clinical interpretation, scientific rigour and translating evidence into strategy.
  • Lead multiple concurrent engagements of increasing scope and complexity, contributing to practice-level capability initiatives including evidence-focused and AI-augmented innovation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
