MDT Coordinator and Pathway Tracker

About the Role

We are recruiting for an MDT Coordinator and Pathway Tracker who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient journeys from initial referral by GPs to confirmation and treatment of cancer diagnoses.
  • Ensure all patients meet national Cancer Waiting Time standards, including:
    • 28-Day Faster Diagnosis Standard
    • 31-Day and 62-Day treatment targets
  • Coordinate administrative processes to improve patient progression and pathway efficiency, including:
    • Management of the Patient Tracking List (PTL)
    • Support for escalating delays
    • Facilitating MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) meetings
  • Ensure clinical teams have timely access to necessary information for safe decision-making.
  • Gather and coordinate all relevant clinical data, such as notes, investigations, imaging, and test results, including liaising with external hospitals.
  • Support MDT meetings by maintaining accurate attendance records in line with national Peer Review requirements.
  • Type data accurately during live sessions to aid decision-making processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of NHS and Trust systems.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Medical terminology awareness and ability to support live data entry.
  • A calm, logical, and methodical approach able to handle busy, fast-paced work environments.
  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact confidently with multiple clinical and administrative teams.
  • Some prior experience or training with cancer care pathways would be advantageous.
