We are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on the landmark Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project based in Peterhead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects, supporting the successful commercial delivery of major mechanical and electrical works.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through to final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Your team

  • This role will be based at our Peterhead site
  • A living away allowance will be provided for working away from home along with other package benefits
  • BAM operates a flexible working policy

Making Possible

  • Manage the commercial delivery of Mechanical & Electrical works on site.
  • Prepare, submit and agree interim applications and valuations.
  • Assess and process subcontractor applications and payments.
  • Administer subcontract agreements, including change management and compensation events.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cash flow updates.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support procurement activities, including tender analysis and subcontract awards.
  • Negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.

What do you bring to the role?

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction projects.
  • A strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical packages and associated commercial processes.
  • Experience administering NEC contracts (preferred).
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project team.
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • Membership of RICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
