Mechanic

We Offer Our Mechanics

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 payable on easy (DOE) plus benefits including:

  • Performance bonuses up to £9,000 every three years (terms and conditions apply)
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • Home location: Carlisle Hyundai/Geely/Vanstore
  • Annual leave starting at 33 days (possibility to grow leave entitlement)

As a Mechanic, you will…

As a mechanic, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers’ vehicles are safe and ready for the road. You’ll bring attention to detail, professionalism, and pride in your work—all while being part of a skilled and driven team. You’ll get to handle a diverse range of manufacturers and models, constantly growing your expertise and keeping up with the latest innovations in vehicle technology.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • A certified Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 qualification
  • Solid industry experience in automotive engineering
  • Self-sufficient—you can work efficiently solo or as part of a busy team
  • Clear communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Reliable deadline-focused work with a focus on high-quality outcomes
  • Proactive and enthusiastic—you take the initiative and go beyond expectations
  • Strong ability to follow instructions for international diagnostic testing (written and verbal)
  • Full and valid driving licence

Your Day-to-Day Duties

  • Executing high-standard servicing, repairs and maintenance
  • Diagnosing engine and mechanical/electrical faults accurately using computer-based diagnostics
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts efficiently
  • Conducting DVSA vehicle tests (if authorised)
  • Testing vehicles on the road post-repair to ensure safety and performance
  • Inspecting tools and equipment to uphold working standards
  • Following standardised checklists to ensure all procedures are completed with precision
  • Completing accurate and complete documentation to required standards
