As a mechanic at Arnold Clark, you will safely prepare our customers’ cars for the road ahead. You’ll care about every detail and take pride in delivering a meticulous job while being part of a capable, motivated team. Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE (Dependent on Experience)
- Performance bonuses: Additional opportunity to earn up to £9,000 every three years (terms and conditions apply)
- Overtime: All overtime paid at time-and-a-half

Essential Skills & Experience
- Award: Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance (Level 3)
- Experience: Solid work experience in the automotive industry
- Self-initiative: Ability to work efficiently, alone, or as part of a busy team
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy and precision
- Standards & deadlines: Commitment to industry standards and timely delivery
- Proactivity: Enthusiastic and proactive approach
- Instructional ability: Ability to accurately follow technical instructions
- Licencing: Full driving licence (required)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to:
- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance to high standards
- Inspecting engine and mechanical/electrical components using computerised diagnostics
- Repairing or replacing defective parts
- Conducting DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised)
- Road-testing repaired vehicles to ensure quality
- Maintaining tools and equipment (checklists in place)
- Follow written checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
- Completing accurate documentation to required standards
