Senior Marine Systems Assembler/Technician – Full-Time (Permanent)

Salary: Up to £50,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Responsibilities

Assembling marine sub-systems and supporting functional testing activities, ensuring systems meet validation and sea-readiness standards.

Key duties include:

  • Build and test marine propulsion components (engines, gearboxes, and waterjets) to high standards
  • Proactively identify, report, and address defects/issues in vessel construction and systems
  • Install sub-system components in line with marine engineering specifications
  • Provide defect reports via correct channels
  • Follow 3D models and digital work instructions in a marine engineering environment
  • Support vessel full fit-out, ensuring systems are installed accurately, securely, and to specification
  • Adhere to safety procedures, work instructions, and project schedules
  • Focus on high-quality, safe, and marine-compliant workmanship
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute experience-based feedback
  • Travel for offsite craft testing, trials, or commissioning activities as needed
  • Support operations team with routine and reactive maintenance tasks

Qualifications & Experience

  • Desired: City & Guilds/HND qualification in Boat Building or Marine Engineering
  • Experience with:
    • Diesel and petrol engines
    • Hand tools, light machinery
    • Waterjet and gearbox installation/maintenance
  • Computer literacy (basic Microsoft Office knowledge)
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • UK security clearance eligibility (Baseline Personnel Security Standard – BPSS – required for some roles)
