Job Opportunity: Senior Civil Engineer

Due to ongoing business growth, we are expanding our technical teams in Bristol and looking to hire a Senior Civil Engineer to join Vulcain on a full-time permanent basis, to play an integral part of our major nuclear new build programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination of civil design and detailing activities across assigned packages
  • Review and oversee technical deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Act as the key technical interface between design teams, contractors and stakeholders
  • Support development and management of detailing strategies and design processes
  • Chair technical meetings, workshops and design reviews
  • Manage risks, technical queries and design issues throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment with replication principles and project standards
  • Contribute to reporting, planning and overall technical governance

Why This Role?

This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in delivering complex civil engineering works on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, with exposure to large-scale design integration and high-level stakeholder engagement.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Background in civil engineering, ideally within large infrastructure or regulated environments
  • Experience in design detailing, reinforced concrete or structural delivery
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes and technical governance
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and managing interfaces
  • Familiarity with design standards, safety requirements and construction considerations
  • Ability to review technical submissions and manage design quality
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Structured and proactive approach to managing complex engineering scope
  • Reside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
