WE'RE HIRING

Mechanical Design Engineer

Preston / Oxford, UK | Full-time | Works closely with China and the Netherlands

Ref: MDE01-UK

We're building the infrastructure for a circular electronics economy — and we need a Mechanical Design Engineer in the UK to help design the equipment that makes it possible.

3R Technology Global recovers up to 99% of precious metals and 75%+ of plastics from end-of-life electronics using proprietary AI robotic sorting technology, built through our subsidiary Hermion. We operate across the UK, US, Netherlands, and China, and we're scaling fast toward 20 factories by 2030.

What You'll Do

  • Own mechanical design end-to-end: concept, detailed design, prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturing hand-off.
  • Run FEA, dynamics simulation, and material selection to validate designs before build.
  • Produce clear engineering drawings and documentation in English and Chinese.
  • Partner with our China and the Netherlands engineering, procurement, and quality teams on global standards.
  • Get hands-on at supplier and manufacturing sites — troubleshooting, DFM reviews, site visits.
  • Move fast on cross-functional, cross-time-zone projects, including outside standard hours when deadlines demand it.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
