Mechanical Design Engineer – Medical Packaging Machinery
Job Type: Permanent Location: Leicestershire, United Kingdom Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 Discipline: R&D Job Ref: CT1883
About the Role
Cure Talent is proud to partner with a leading UK manufacturer specializing in high-quality packaging machinery solutions for the medical device industry. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team, bringing strong design skills and experience to shape innovative automation systems, jigs, and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical design expertise throughout the project lifecycle, covering concept, design, construction, and commissioning
- Design custom components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks, producing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
- Collaborate on procurement and subcontract manufacturing, selecting the best materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
- Technical Files
- Operator Instructions
- Maintenance Instructions
- Ensure compliance with performance, quality, regulatory, Health and Safety, and continuous improvement standards

What We’re Looking For


Get help with your application

- Experience in packaging or automation equipment design
- Degree in Design Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Background in medical packaging or medical devices
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
- Understanding of engineering workshops and machinery
