Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Manchester Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £45,000 + Package

With offices across the UK and a collaborative engineering culture, they offer an excellent environment for experienced engineers to progress and take on greater technical and project responsibility.

Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Manchester team. This role involves taking responsibility for mechanical building services design across a variety of challenging projects.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering mechanical systems across a diverse mix of projects.
  • Assisting senior engineers in the full project lifecycle from concept and feasibility to detailed design stages.
  • Conducting site surveys and attending client meetings.
  • Preparing technical reports, specifications, and schedules.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to team collaboration.
  • Mentoring other junior engineers.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or relevant subject.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in mechanical design within the building services sector.
  • An existing security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IESVE, etc.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Working towards chartership (CIBSE or IET) is desirable.
