We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and growing MEP consultancy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical skills while working on a wide range of high-quality projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The team is experiencing a strong forward workload across sectors including further and higher education, healthcare, mixed-use developments, leisure, residential, and hotel projects. With a solid client base and continued project wins, there is a real opportunity to contribute to the delivery of exciting schemes.

The Role

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across multiple projects. You will work alongside senior engineers and other disciplines, contributing to all stages of the design process while continuing to build your experience and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical building services systems, including:
    • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
    • Domestic water services and drainage
    • Low carbon and energy-efficient systems
  • Produce calculations, technical reports, and specifications
  • Develop designs from concept through to detailed and construction stages
  • Prepare and review drawings using AutoCAD and contribute to BIM models in Revit
  • Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients, architects, and other consultants
  • Support coordination with other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
  • Carry out site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure design compliance
  • Ensure designs meet current regulations, standards, and sustainability targets
  • Support junior team members where appropriate and contribute to team knowledge sharing

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a Building Services / MEP consultancy environment
  • Good technical understanding of mechanical building services design
  • Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and progress
