Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Purpose
Provides engineering solutions, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.
Job Description
- Performs tasks in accordance with department instructions, schedules, processes, and HSE requirements, utilising technically correct engineering analysis, optimised engineering solutions, and provides technical assistance to other functions within the organisation.
- Works independently on assigned tasks and participates in more complex projects under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
- Supervises junior engineering personnel by:
- Checking their calculations
- Reviewing design conception, layouts, and engineering solutions
- Ensuring quality and efficiency of deliverables
- Delivers designs for proposals from customer or internally generated specifications.
- Verifies designs using classical analysis techniques.
- Reviews technical documents and drawings in accordance with design standards.

Skills
Essential
- Relevant Engineering Degree
- Skilled in Manufacturing Engineering
- Skilled in Engineering Drawing, Dimensioning, & Tolerancing
- Skilled in creating engineering documentation and Bill of Materials
- Knowledgeable in Materials Science
Desirable
- Knowledgeable in 3D Modeling and Drafting Standards (NX or equivalent)
- Knowledgeable in Surface Wellhead and Tree technology
- Skilled in relevant industry codes (API 6A, ISO 9001, etc.)
- Skilled in TechnipFMC core applications, databases, and processes
- Knowledgeable in MS Office
Competencies
Essential
- Strong engineering design aptitude
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and written
- Strong QHSE fundamentals
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and diverse cultural environment
- Good planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
