About The Role

A unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing new machinery from scratch
  • Leading concept development, prototyping, and R&D
  • Steering designs through to manufacture

Collaboration will include production teams, electrical/control panel engineers, service engineers, and project delivery teams, playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture
  • Produce 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Lead R&D, prototyping, and new machine development
  • Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components
  • Ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable
  • Support build, test, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Collaborate with production, projects, and service teams
  • Contribute ideas to enhance machine performance, build quality, and efficiency

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environment
  • Background in designing bespoke machinery or working with handling equipment
  • Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Experience in sheet metal design
  • Experience in food, beverage, or packaging machinery (preferred)
