About The Role
A unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing new machinery from scratch
- Leading concept development, prototyping, and R&D
- Steering designs through to manufacture
Collaboration will include production teams, electrical/control panel engineers, service engineers, and project delivery teams, playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture
- Produce 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Lead R&D, prototyping, and new machine development
- Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components
- Ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable
- Support build, test, installation, and commissioning phases
- Collaborate with production, projects, and service teams
- Contribute ideas to enhance machine performance, build quality, and efficiency
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environment
- Background in designing bespoke machinery or working with handling equipment
- Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience in sheet metal design
- Experience in food, beverage, or packaging machinery (preferred)
