Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work on truly unique projects that leave a lasting mark on some of the world's most iconic buildings?
We are partnering with a highly respected specialist sheet metal fabrication business renowned for delivering bespoke architectural metalwork solutions for prestigious projects across the UK and internationally. Their work can be found within some of the world's most recognisable landmark buildings, where quality, precision and innovation are at the heart of every project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering team and play a key role in transforming architectural concepts into manufacturable, high-quality metalwork solutions.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed designs and manufacturing information for bespoke sheet metal and architectural metalwork projects from concept through to installation.
Working closely with architects, project managers, manufacturing teams and clients, you will ensure designs are technically robust, manufacturable and delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D designs for bespoke sheet metal and fabricated metalwork projects.
- Develop manufacturing drawings, fabrication details and assembly information.
- Liaise with architects, clients, project managers and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements.
- Support projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.
- Resolve technical design challenges and provide engineering support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or similar engineering position.
- Previous experience within sheet metal fabrication, architectural metalwork, structural steelwork or bespoke manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency using CAD software, ideally including:
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Inventor
- Revit
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges.
