MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

My client are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting the design and development of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for a range of customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic solutions.
  • Produce engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Create and review hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, workshop and operations teams to deliver successful projects.
  • Ensure designs comply with health and safety standards and engineering best practice.

About You

Essential

  • Degree in Mechanical or Fluid Power Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and schematics.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical and hydraulic design calculations.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • Practical engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • IOSH qualification.

  • Up to £42,000
