We are recruiting a Mechanical Design / Project Engineer on behalf of a well-established, successful manufacturer supplying specialist equipment into a demanding global industry, with a strong reputation built on reliability, quality and excellent after-sales support.
This is a genuine opportunity for a Mechanical Design / Project Engineer to join a talented engineering team and take real ownership of products from initial concept through to a finished, working part. The business is happy to provide full training on their specific tools and processes, so while relevant industry background is a bonus, it isn't essential - what matters most is a strong design foundation and a genuine willingness to learn.

- Creating 3D CAD models, assemblies and 2D drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD
- Designing piece parts across a range of manufacturing processes - casting, machining, fabrication
- Maintaining and improving existing product lines and drawings via formal engineering change procedures
- Supporting value engineering and product improvement projects
- Producing and maintaining product instruction manuals and technical/sales literature
- Supporting contract documentation and working closely with the team on large-scale one-off projects
- Attending client and project meetings
- Managing BOMs within the company's MRP system
- Preparing designs, calculations, specifications and tender documentation
What We Are Looking For
- BSc/BEng (or equivalent) in Engineering
- 3+ years experience designing piece-part components
- Solid understanding of geometrical tolerances
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D) and 3D CAD such as PTC Creo or SolidWorks
- Strong numerical and methodical problem-solving skills
- Experience with BOM creation and control within a CAD package
- A hands-on, detail-focused approach and comfortable working independently
- Any marine or relevant mechanical industry background advantageous but not required - full training will be provided
