Are you an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on nationally significant water projects? Stantec is inviting Expressions of Interest from talented M&E professionals who want to play a key role in delivering the next generation of water infrastructure across the UK.
The UK water industry is entering an unprecedented period of investment, with a strong focus on resilience, sustainability and protecting the environment for future generations. As a trusted partner to many of the UK's leading water companies, Stantec is at the forefront of this transformation, delivering innovative solutions that help communities thrive.
Whether you're looking for your next challenge now or considering a move in the near future, we'd love to hear from you.
Why Register Your Interest?
Joining Stantec means becoming part of a collaborative team delivering some of the UK's most significant water and wastewater projects. We work across major long-term frameworks, providing opportunities to influence projects from concept through to delivery while helping solve some of the sector's biggest challenges.
We're particularly interested in speaking with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers who have experience in the design, specification and delivery of water or wastewater infrastructure. We welcome interest from professionals across a range of experience levels, especially those who can bring technical leadership, mentor developing engineers and contribute to successful multidisciplinary project delivery. Experience working within Design & Build environments would be an advantage but is not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
