We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Design team, supporting the delivery of advanced water treatment and electrochlorination systems. You’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle — from enquiry and proposal support through to execution and commissioning — ensuring our systems are technically robust, compliant, and aligned to client and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Interpreting and digesting customer technical requirements and contract documentation
- Producing process calculations, pump sizing calculations and hydraulic designs
- Creating and defining PFDs and P&IDs

- Supporting proposal scope preparation and engaging with clients pre- and post-contract
- Reviewing Process Control Philosophies and Functional Design Specifications
- Resolving design issues during manufacture, installation and commissioning
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal QA procedures
- Supporting CDM responsibilities through hazard elimination and risk mitigation in design
- Contributing to document control and design review processes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
