Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) team, working at the forefront of high‑pressure gas transfer and process equipment technology.

You will take ownership of complex, customer‑focused projects, designing gas, hydraulic, and process systems from first principles and seeing them through from concept to validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a core member of the design team ensuring on‑time, compliant delivery
  • Develop concept and detailed system designs
  • Design dynamic seals for high‑pressure gas applications
  • Produce engineering calculations covering thermodynamics, flow, pressure and power
  • Create 2D and 3D CAD models, GA drawings, P&IDs and BOMs
  • Compile component specifications and support validation activities including Compiling detailed component specifications for various regions and component / system validation including relevant paperwork i.e. ITP’s, RA’s, DFMEA, SWI’s, SOP’s, FAT’s etc.
  • Maintain engineering documentation for ISO and CE compliance
  • Lead design reviews and prepare technical files including PED, ATEX and IECEx

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience in a mechanical design engineering role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience (preferably in oil and gas)
  • Experience delivering customer‑facing engineering projects

Travel & Work Arrangements

This is a full‑time, permanent position based at the Sunderland facility.
