Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer position based at our tissue manufacturing facility. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

- Carrying out planned preventive and reactive maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults
- Completing repairs
- Identifying recurring machinery issues to reduce downtime
The Mechanical Engineer will also support equipment installation, machinery modifications, and improvement projects. The successful candidate will work closely with production and engineering teams to improve machine reliability, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure all work is completed in line with company health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- More than 8 years of relevant mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to manufacturing environments
- Strong experience working with industrial machinery and production equipment
- Good knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production and engineering team
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in tissue manufacturing would be a strong advantage
- Experience in paper, packaging, converting, or a similar manufacturing industry would also be beneficial
