Job Description
We’re looking for a creative, hands-on mechanical engineer with a commercial mindset to join our Energy & Process Technologies team.
The transition to a more sustainable future depends on turning new ideas into practical technologies. Our EPT team develops products that help decarbonise industry, transform the way chemicals are made, and accelerate the adoption of modern energy-generation technologies. By combining deep scientific expertise in electrochemistry and power electronics with systems, chemical, and product engineering, we deliver complex, commercially viable solutions for our ambitious clients.
As a mechanical engineer at TTP you’ll work on complex engineering challenges, using a solid grounding in first-principles engineering knowledge to identify and develop solutions. This will involve a combination of creative idea-generation, analysis, modelling, design and problem solving, as well as hands-on experimental work to take your ideas from the lab to pilot scale testing. As a consultant, you’ll also use this knowledge to explore new business opportunities for the team and will have the opportunity to build your project leadership capability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
