Position: CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialist

Type: Contract

Compensation: $30 - $100/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Produce, edit, and validate precise parametric CAD models using FreeCAD, focusing on robust geometric accuracy and engineering best practices.
  • Develop a diverse library of mechanical parts, assemblies, and features to support AI dataset creation and model training needs.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure models reflect real-world mechanical design standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of CAD data, identifying and resolving discrepancies while maintaining detailed engineering documentation.
  • Implement feedback and revisions efficiently to continually refine CAD deliverables in response to evolving project requirements.
  • Optionally utilize Python scripting to automate modeling tasks or enhance model parametrization for increased efficiency and dataset richness.

Requirements

  • Have strong relevant experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in parametric modeling and mechanical design, with a deep understanding of engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD validation and the application of GD&T for real-world manufacturing scenarios.
  • Familiarity with industrial engineering principles and common manufacturing processes.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive engineering documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Python scripting skills for CAD automation and enhancement are highly preferred, though not required.
