Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:45am – 5:00pm | Friday 7:45am – 12:45pm

Holiday: 20 days plus banks

Christmas Shutdown

Overtime Availability


About The Company

Our client is a well-established precision engineering business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality machining solutions to customers across a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, rail, pharmaceutical, energy, and general engineering.

Due to continued growth and investment in advanced manufacturing technology, they are looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Engineer with CNC machining experience to join their experienced engineering team.


The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in CNC machining, precision engineering, toolmaking, or EDM machining to work within a modern manufacturing environment producing high-precision components to exacting standards.

The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture of complex components, working from engineering drawings and specifications while ensuring the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and monitor precision engineering machinery.
  • Program and operate CNC equipment where required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Manufacture components to tight tolerances and customer requirements.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining methods.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Support production activities to ensure quality and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Carry out fault finding and problem-solving activities when required.
  • Assist with machine maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience operating CNC milling, turning, or EDM machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Wire EDM or Spark Erosion machinery.
  • CNC programming and machine setting experience.
  • Toolmaking or precision engineering background.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection procedures.
  • Experience working within a subcontract manufacturing environment.
