About The Role
As an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will join our Mechanical Engineering Team and support the Post Design Support Team (PDST), working on real products used in defence environments.
During your 12-month placement, you will gain practical experience using industry-standard engineering tools and processes, including SolidWorks for 3D modelling, drawing creation, and engineering analysis. You will also gain experience supporting the manufacturing and assembly teams, helping to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and meet performance requirements.
You will be involved in structured problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance product quality, reliability, and efficiency. Throughout the placement, you will work closely with experienced engineers and gain exposure to all elements of the engineering lifecycle, including design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, and engineering support.
This placement provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical knowledge, professional skills, and confidence while working on meaningful, real-world engineering challenges.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
