Mechanical Engineer
# About Carv
Carv is building the future of sports coaching. We combine AI, real-time feedback, and sensor-driven data to help skiers improve faster and enjoy the sport more. Our product sits at the intersection of hardware, mobile, backend systems, biomechanics, and coaching, and we care deeply about building technology that works in the real world, not just in theory.
We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer who can design and deliver reliable, robust solutions suitable for mass production as part of our core Carv product and future research and development. If you love the idea of innovating and building products that push the limits of sensor technology in a sport you love, we’d love to hear from you.
We value diverse perspectives and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
About the Role
- Design and develop our core Carv product, applying engineering excellence and knowledge of design for manufacturing to create beautiful hardware that can be manufactured at scale.
- Develop early-stage prototypes and research and development platforms to prove concepts for future sensors that meaningfully improve our Data Science efforts.
- Work closely with our manufacturers to ensure products are consistently built with high quality.
- Collaborate within the Hardware team to integrate electronics and firmware.
- Work with the Customer Success team in identifying and debugging product issues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
