Salary: Up to £45,500 depending on experience

Job Description
You will join a technical role focusing on the electro-mechanical aspects of hardware obsolescence and design. In this position, you will provide support to the Return to Manufacture Lead Engineer and the Sting Ray Mod-2 teams.
Core Duties
You will:
- Collaborate with the Sting Ray Mod 2 (SRM2) Design Team to ensure alignment across Sting Ray Mid-Life Upgrade and SRM2 All Up Round, minimising design standard differences.
- Support the resolution of obsolescence in the legacy elements of the SRM2 torpedo through new design, new procurement, and component certification activities.
- Work with supply chain to reinstate the manufacture and procurement of legacy elements of the SRM2 torpedo.
- Support internal and supplier verification activities (including analysis, inspection, and testing), such as environmental qualification and product installation activities.
- Generate technical reports, design documents, specifications, and release artefacts required for procurement of hardware and progression through design gates.
- Contribute to the identification and closure of issues emerging during all product lifecycle stages, managing the resulting change embodiment activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
You will have:
- A strong understanding of theories and concepts in an engineering discipline gained through professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with engineering approaches, processes, and procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for designing and developing assemblies, systems, sub-systems, and services.
- Experience ensuring designs are engineered for manufacturability, quality, and seamless transition into full-scale production.
About the Team
You will be joining a focused team dedicated to underwater weapons, playing a key role in upgrades and re-designs of the Sting Ray weapon system. The team works closely with technical experts, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to address obsolescence and technical issues across the SRM2 system.
