Location & Contract
- Location: Field-based, covering Nottingham, Newark on Trent, Grantham, and Lincoln
- Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum plus a company van (business use only)
- Contract: Permanent (full-time) or Associate positions available
A Day in the Life & Your Impact
As a Vehicle Inspection Engineer, your role will be bold and hands-on, driving towards safety, quality, and customer satisfaction:
- Meet customers across your assigned region, delivering precision vehicle inspections on-site.
- Conduct pre-purchase checks, warranty evaluations, dealer audits, and mechanical assessments to uphold high standards of safety and quality.
- Craft detailed, accurate reports with expertise, reinforcing customer confidence and safeguarding DEKRA’s reputation.
- Contribute to operational growth by suggesting efficiencies and advancements.

Key Responsibilities
Your core What You’ll Do includes:
- Deliver high-quality, meticulous vehicle inspections at customer sites—excellence is non-negotiable.
- Compile comprehensive inspection reports promptly after each visit.
- Execute pre-purchase checks, warranty evaluations, audits, and mechanical assessments.
- Spot cosmetic and structural flaws, including substandard bodywork repairs.
- Support operational enhancements and contribute to new programmes/procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, servicing, or MOT environments.
- Sharp attention to detail, ensuring crystal-clear, professional reports.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to operate independently in a field-based role while collaborating within a team.
- A full UK driving licence.

Essential Criteria
- City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).
- Membership of a professional body, e.g., IMI or IRTE.
- Experience in vehicle inspections, audits, or appraisals.
- Interest or involvement in continuous improvement initiatives or operational development.
