Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering — AI Trainer

About The Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need mechanical engineers to make it happen. Your deep domain knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems, from fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to structural mechanics and FEA.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI development while working fully remote on your own schedule.

Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design advanced engineering problems — craft challenging, domain-specific problems across areas like:

    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Heat transfer
    • Kinematics
    • Fluid mechanics
    • Materials science To rigorously test AI performance.
  • Author gold-standard solutions — develop precise, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that AI models learn from and are evaluated against.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Audit AI reasoning — evaluate AI-generated outputs including:

    • CAD logic
    • Thermodynamic derivations
    • Material specifications For technical correctness, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
  • Sharpen model thinking — identify and document logical errors in AI reasoning (e.g. incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or flawed material assumptions) and provide structured feedback to improve model accuracy.

Who You Are

  • Advanced Degree: Currently pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong Domain Knowledge: Solid foundational expertise in one or more of:
    • Solid mechanics
    • Fluid mechanics
    • Thermodynamics
    • CAD/CAM
    • Manufacturing processes
  • Clear Technical Communicator: Able to translate complex physical phenomena and mathematical reasoning into clear, precise written explanations.
  • Detail-Oriented: Rigorous approach to checking:
    • Mathematical derivations
    • Unit conversions
    • Physical system constraints
