Mechanical Engineering — AI Trainer

About The Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need mechanical engineers to make it happen. As an AI Trainer, you'll stress-test advanced language models on complex engineering problems, expose their reasoning failures, and help define what engineering-grade AI looks like.

This is a rare opportunity to step outside traditional engineering work and directly influence how the next generation of AI understands fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and more.

Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced engineering problems across domains like FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, and material science to probe the limits of AI reasoning
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for accuracy, safety, and compliance with standards like ASME and ISO
  • Refine AI Reasoning — Identify flawed reasoning — incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, unit errors — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance
  • Work Independently — Complete task-based assignments on your own schedule, asynchronously

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
