Multi-Tech Engineering (UK) Apprenticeship Opportunity
Multi-Tech Engineering (UK), a long-standing supplier of services to the power and manufacturing industry, is looking for the newest engineering talent to join its operations in Knottingley, West Yorkshire.
Wage: £18,252 a year
Training course: Engineering fitter (level 3)
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (3:30pm Friday) 39 hours a week
Start date: Tuesday 1 September 2026
Duration: 4 years

What you'll do at work
The apprenticeship is ideally suited to someone who wishes to work in a practical engineering role whilst gaining the necessary qualifications for a career in engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform work instructions to maximise efficiency and to fulfil the requirements set by supervisors and management.
- Complete an extended period of study to gain Advanced Apprentice/BTEC L3 standard qualifications.
- Adhere to internal quality procedures and maintain the standards necessary to satisfy the company quality standards.
- Adhere to the company Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
- Promote an employee-orientated company culture that emphasises quality, health and safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Essential Experience:
- High level of interest in gaining practical mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Demonstrated skills in record keeping.
- Effective oral and written communication.
Personal Attributes:
- Interest in working to a high level of accuracy within low tolerances.
- High level of interest in gaining practical mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Commitment to undertake extended period of study.

Engineering fitter (level 3)
What you'll learn
Course contents:
- Reading, interpreting and understanding the component or assembly specification, diagrams, drawings and work instructions.
- Planning component or assembly task – materials, tools and equipment.
- Preparing work area for component or assembly task; sourcing required resources, tools and equipment.
- Carry out relevant planning and preparation activities before commencing work activity and know how to source required resources and interpret detailed drawings, specifications and job instructions.
- Checking tools during and after task completion; identifying and reporting defects.
- Measuring and testing, checking or inspecting component or assembly for example; use of micrometers, verniers, multimeters, voltmeter.
- Problem solving; analysing the issue and fixing the issue where appropriate.
- Applying improvement techniques; recommending or implementing solutions where appropriate.
- Communicating with colleagues or customers (internal or external).
- Completing component or assembly documentation for example job instructions, drawings, quality control documentation.
- Reporting work outcomes or issues.
- Restoring the work area on completion of the activity; returning any resources and consumables to the appropriate location and house-keeping.
- Disposing of waste in accordance with waste streams; re-cycling, re-using where appropriate.
- Operating within limits of responsibility.
- Operating in line with quality, health and safety and environmental policy and procedures; identifying risks and hazards and identifying control measures where applicable.

Year One
- Day release at Appris, Bradford: EAL Level 2 BTEC in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Mechanical)

Year One through Year Three
- Day release at Appris, Bradford: EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Mechanical).
Year One through to Year Four
- Workplace Training and Mentoring towards achieving the Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours (KSBs)
In your 4th Year
- You will continue to work towards your occupational competency in engineering and prepare for independent end-point assessments

Candidates must be able to attend Appris in Bradford one day per week for off-the-job training.
Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- GCSE in:
- English (grade Grade 4 (or equivalent))
- Maths (grade Grade 4 (or equivalent))
- Science (grade Grade 4 (or equivalent))
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
