Mechanical Engineering Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for mechanical engineering experts to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex engineering problems — from fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to structural mechanics and mechatronics.
This is a unique opportunity to move beyond traditional engineering work and leave a lasting mark on the next generation of AI systems used by engineers, researchers, and innovators worldwide.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced mechanical engineering problems across domains like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, fluid mechanics, and material science to rigorously stress-test AI performance
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that AI models learn from and are evaluated against
- Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO)
- Identify & Correct Failures — Pinpoint logical errors in AI reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or invalid boundary conditions — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance
- Work Independently — Complete task-based assignments asynchronously on your own schedule

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
