£60,000 - £80,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a market-leading Building Services Contractor with an established reputation for delivering complex MEP projects across London and the South East.
This role offers exposure to technically demanding projects, collaborative working with experienced pre-construction professionals and genuine long-term career progression.
The Position
Reporting to the Head of Pre-Construction, you will be responsible for producing detailed mechanical estimates from first principles through to final tender submission. Working closely with internal design, commercial and operational teams, you will assess tender documentation, engage with the supply chain and develop commercially competitive bids that reflect both technical compliance and commercial value.
The role requires an individual who can confidently manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and delivering against strict submission deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Produce accurate mechanical estimates for major building services projects.
- Analyse tender documentation, specifications and design information.
- Prepare detailed take-offs for labour, plant, materials and specialist subcontract packages.
- Obtain, review and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Attend internal bid reviews and contribute to tender strategy.
- Develop comprehensive pricing schedules and supporting tender documentation.
- Liaise with design managers, project teams and commercial departments throughout the pre-construction process.
- Support successful project mobilisation following contract award.
Candidate Profile
Applications are welcomed from experienced Mechanical Estimators with a proven background working within the Building Services or M&E contracting sector.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience preparing competitive tenders for mechanical building services projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, domestic water, public health and mechanical installations.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical skills.
- Confidence communicating with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- A methodical and organised approach to tender management.
- Proficiency using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
