Mechanical Estimator

Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Southampton.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator (Heating, Boiler & Electrical Services sector) to join a successful and expanding team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent commercial awareness, and the ability to produce accurate mechanical estimates for a variety of projects.

This role is office-based, offering long-term stability, strong company culture and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare mechanical cost estimates and tenders for new projects
  • Review drawings, specifications and client documents
  • Liaise with engineers, suppliers and contractors to obtain accurate pricing
  • Produce detailed proposals and bid submissions
  • Analyse risks, project constraints and technical requirements
  • Support the wider commercial and estimating team

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Mechanical Estimator
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good communication and negotiation skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with estimating software
  • Background within construction, M&E or building services

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
