Mechanical Estimator
Contract: Full time - Permanent
Reports to: Estimating Manager
Location: Office based; Epsom, Surrey KT17
Hours: 9am - 5pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Our client delivers mechanical and electrical building services for trusted clients across healthcare, education and heritage. They've built a reputation for high-quality delivery in complex environments backed by a supportive, people-first culture.
The Role
Join their estimating team as a Mechanical Estimator and take ownership of end-to-end pricing helping them win and deliver standout projects. You'll work closely with PMs and engineers, with real scope to influence how they estimate and improve bid quality.

What you'll be doing
- Review drawings/specs and confirm scope, constraints and risks
- Complete mechanical take-offs (HVAC, pipework, plumbing, BSW)
- Build clear, accurate cost plans (labour, plant, materials, prelims, subbies)
- Run supplier/subcontract enquiries and assess returns
- Prepare tender submissions (assumptions, clarifications, exclusions)
- Support value engineering and continuous improvement of rates/benchmarks
What we're looking for
- Experience estimating mechanical building services packages
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework and plumbing (fire protection a plus)
- Confident interpreting drawings, specs and scope
- Commercially aware, accurate and detail-focused
- Organised, able to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines
- Good communicator with a collaborative approach
- Comfortable with MS Office (estimating software experience helpful)
