Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

M Group is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Water Division on the Anglian Water contract in Colchester. You'll work as part of a skilled team delivering engineering solutions across the water treatment sector.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Day to day you'll assemble and fit mechanical components from engineering drawings along with carrying out basic steel and plastic fabrication.
  • You'll prepare, build, and adapt assets to specification and monitor build progress and support project delivery deadlines.
  • We'll need you to maintain tools, equipment, and stock levels along with completing installation, commissioning, and service activities on and off site.
  • You'll ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures and follow all Health & Safety standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

You must be willing to travel across various sites throughout East Anglia.

What You’ll Bring

  • Do you have proven experience in a mechanical or engineering environment?
  • Have you got the ability to work accurately and efficiently?
  • Do you have excellent organisational skills with the ability to co-ordinate activities in a fast-paced environment?
  • Are you able to meet deadlines, work calmly under pressure and work as part of a team?
  • Can you work flexibly, self-motivate, able to take ownership and act on own initiative?
  • Do you have great communication skills?
  • Do you have an aptitude for practical skills?
  • Have you got a C&G /BTEC Mechanical qualification?
  • Do you hold a Full UK Driving Licence?
  • Have you gained Fabrication and welding experience - This is desirable
  • Preferred previous working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment assets
