Role Overview
Join our skilled team as a Mechanical Fitter, ensuring the assembly, maintenance, and quality of hyperbaric chambers and pressure vessels for high-risk occupancy environments. This hands-on mechanical role requires precision fitting, pneumatic system installation, cleanroom operations, and strict adherence to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Fitting & Assembly
- Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and systems for hyperbaric pressure vessels, strictly following engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Perform fit, alignment, and installation of parts with high precision to ensure seamless mechanical integration.
- Support the build of pressure vessels for human occupancy, ensuring proper installation of safety systems, control mechanisms, and mechanical sub-systems.
Pneumatic Systems Installation & Maintenance
- Assist in installing, assembling, and maintaining pneumatic valves, compressors, and control systems essential to hyperbaric chamber function.
- Conduct testing and inspections to verify system functionality and compliance with operational standards.

Clean Environment Operations
- Maintain strict hygiene protocols within cleanrooms or controlled environments, preventing contamination during mechanical assembly.
- Follow strict cleanroom procedures to ensure cleanliness of materials and components.
Quality Testing & Inspection
- Perform mechanical testing and quality inspections to validate component functionality, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure all assemblies meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with engineering teams, production staff, and quality control personnel to deliver safe, high-quality products.
- Participate in troubleshooting and corrective actions to resolve mechanical or manufacturing issues.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of work, including:
- Assembly reports
- Inspection findings
- Compliance documentation
- Ensure full adherence to health and safety regulations and company standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a mechanical fitter (or similar role), with expertise in:
- Mechanical assembly and fitting
- Precision hand-fitting techniques
- Problem-solving under pressure
- Strong attention to detail for high-precision work.
- Ability to:
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Apply quality assurance protocols
Preferred Skills
- Relevant experience with:
- Pressure vessel manufacture
- Pneumatic systems (valves, compressors, actuators)
- Cleanroom/high-contaminant environments
- Familiarity with:
- Hazard identification and risk mitigation
- Adjustable tools and instruments for precision work

Work Environment & Expectations
📍 Location: North Marston (MK18 3RZ) – Relocation preferred, but could be commutable. 🕒 Schedule: Mon-Fri, day shift (some flexibility for production deadlines). 🏛️ Conditions: Work involves cleanrooms, high-pressure systems, and workshop environments. 🚗 Transport: Driver’s license preferred (company provides free on-site/off-street parking).
Salary & Benefits
💰 Salaries: £30,000–£35,000 per annum (progressive depending on experience). ✔️ Core Benefits:
